Saturday 29th March - bike **** – Around Felixstowe including lunch with ‘Emily’– sunny.

Another lovely sunny day here in Felixstowe making it ideal for the partial solar eclipse, my exercises were interrupted as the moon started to cover the sun just before 10.30, it was hard to see with the naked eye but Mag remembered a trick from a few years ago by filling a bowl with water you could see it in the reflection, pretty cool really:) I had some fun with the camera for half an hour or so, it was better when there was some passing cloud otherwise it was too bright, my best pics were taken with my smaller lens of a pigeon sitting watching the eclipse in a neighbours tree! I then spent ages sorting and posting my pics before packing another picnic so we could head out on our bikes again for the second time this week but not before I completed my exercises!
We left home around 1.30, my brakes are completely shoot to pieces and are not working and making a bad noise, will have to book the bike in for a service quickly! We bumped into a couple of old friends staying in Felixstowe for the weekend as a Mothers Day treat and stopped for a lovely chat before continuing down past The Grove park and out into the very quiet Suffolk Countryside with hardly a cloud in the sky! Down Marsh Lane, past the derelict house, having a quick look at the River Deben before cycling past Kings Fleet, not many swans in the water as there were loads eating the winter wheat! We make it to the lovely Falkenham Church to enjoy our picnic with ‘Emily’, well rested we return to Trimley before taking the tree lined path back to Felixstowe, past the huge Uniserve warehouse and home for a well deserved cuppa and cake, top day:)
